What is the best time to arrange my photography session for?

Answer

If at an outdoor location your shoot would be arranged for early-mid morning or late afternoon for best lighting conditions, unless overcast or shot in the shade. Studio and indoor sessions can be arranged for any time of day but keep in mind when you and your family also feel you best.

 

What is the best time of day to arrange a photography session with my young children or baby?

Answer

If at an outdoor location early-mid morning light is really your best option as later in the day little ones are just too tired in general. If you’re planning a studio or indoors photography session, any time of day is possible however young children are typically best straight after their nap or in the morning.

 

How do I choose between a studio or on location photography session?

Answer

Firstly have a look at the galleries of studio and on location in family, baby or pregnancy gallery and see if you prefer either. Where your family will feel most natural and relaxed and have good fun is the second thing to think about. During Naomi’s phone consultation she will discuss these options with you and help you decide what might work best. The age and temperament of family members can be ideal for photography in specific environments too, which Naomi will also discuss with you.

 

What happens if I’ve booked an outdoors location photography session and it is raining?

Answer

Usually if it is just sprinkling it will be temporary and the shoot will go ahead as planned. The overcast light is just so ideal for portraiture, it’s best to take advantage of the very fortunate lighting conditions on the day. If the rain is heavy and continuous then Naomi will call you to look at the options of shooting indoors, in the studio, waiting till later in the day to photograph or rescheduling for later.

 

What does the session fee include?

Answer

A phone or in person consultation at the studio to discuss your individual needs. Up to 2hrs of professional portrait photography in a variety of creative compositions. Travel to and from location in the east, if location session is included (unless otherwise agreed with Naomi). Post photography session culling of images and manipulation of image exposures to give you a better viewing experience.

 

Do you keep my digital images on file for me after I have made my order?

Answer

Your ordered images will be kept on file for 12 months if you wish to reorder any reprints or other products. VIP and repeat customers are given special privileges with regards to digital images, extra prints and special discounts.

If the session was obtained through a charity or non profit organisation for fundraising purposes or through a competition prize the session appointment may not be rescheduled and is at the sole discretion of the photographer. This may mean forfeiting of the voucher value.

 

Do you include any digital retouching or manipulation of ordered images?

Answer

Yes we include very meticulous and time consuming specialised retouching, colour, tonal enhancements and finally cropping on all portraits. The end result is very natural but flattering to say the least. It just gives that subtle brilliance to each image. Typically 20 to 30 minutes retouching and enhancing is spent on each image that is ordered.

 

I’m interested in booking a photography session with Naomi but would like to speak in person or on the phone to discuss my needs and a few questions I have. When can I ring her to discuss?

Answer

Of course Naomi is available any time of day, 7 days a week to have a helpful and hopefully enlightening chat about your session and the various possibilities that may be suitable for you. Naomi is so friendly and approachable, so don’t hesitate to give her a tinkle with your queries.

 

What do I do if my child is sick on the day of the session or a few days prior?

Answer

If your child is genuinely sick the session will be rescheduled for another time. We appreciate if you can give us plenty of notice to reschedule, especially if you have a weekend booking. Donated sessions may not be rescheduled. This is at the discretion of the photographer.

 

My child has a very trying and often difficult temperament. How will Naomi be able to get good images at the session with my child being difficult?

Answer

Please don’t worry about this. Naomi has had 14 years of dealing with every temperament and age under the sun. Some ages are typically more defiant, shy or self conscious than others and Naomi is experienced and incredibly patient with them all. The world is full of difference and wouldn’t it be boring any other way. Having said that this is also why you want to bring your children when they are not tired, hungry or full of sugar and feed colourings.... yikes!

 

When will my images be ready for me to view and order?

Answer

Typically your initial image cull and exposure manipulation of images is done on the day of your session , if not the following day and are then ready to view in your viewing/order session.

 

Can I view my images to choose straight after my session?

Answer

Some people do like to choose straight away and if another parent can take the children to a park or off to play for a couple of hrs then this can be accommodated for. Please let us know that you would like to do this at time of booking so we can set the time aside for you.

 

When are viewing times?

Answer

Viewing can be any time Monday to Friday finishing early evening to allow for parents daytime working hrs. Please make an appointment time to view and order your images. Weekends are set aside for photography sessions only.

 

When will my order be ready for pick up?

Answer

In normal periods prints and photo print cards take 3-4 weeks. Other presentation options such as custom designed photo books, canvases, block mounts, acrylics and framing are around 4-6 weeks unless discussed otherwise with Naomi. Christmas cards need to be ordered at least 2 -3weeks prior to Christmas.

If I pay for a photography session and after the shoot am not happy with the selection of images provided …. Do you then reshoot?

Answer

Yes, if you are not satisfied with the selection of images provided, we are happy to reshoot at another scheduled time at no extra charge. Although we’re happy to say it hasn’t happened yet.

 

Are there any terms and conditions for using a voucher for a Naomi Hamilton Photography session or package obtained through a charity fundraising event, competition or as a special discounted session?

Answer

A $100 security booking deposit confirms your photography session date is held for you and is required at time of booking. The security booking deposit is returned to you after full payment is received on your order. There is just one booking per voucher, so no rescheduling is possible. Please be sure of your date and time before confirming your booking. In busy periods, these vouchers may have more limited session times available. The expiry date for your voucher would be 12 months unless otherwise stated.

Fifty percent of payment for prints and products will be required when you place your order at your viewing unless otherwise agreed prior to your viewing with Naomi. Payment Plans can be arranged – contact Naomi for details. Naomi Hamilton Photography accepts cash, cheque, direct deposit or credit card via PayPal. Pricing including special offers and packages, is subject to change over time. Re-shoots are at the discretion of the photographer. A travel fee may be applied for locations 10 kilometers or more from the Woollahra studio in Sydney if the voucher is a discounted, donated or a session won via a competition.

 

Are there any terms and conditions for regular bought packages and sessions?

Answer

At time of booking your session a session fee is required. The session fee (including the photography session, read more …..) is required when booking your session appointment. The session fee is non-refundable but may be applied towards a rescheduled session if 48 hours notice is given with a legitimate reason. Fifty percent of payment for prints and products will be required when you place your order at your viewing unless otherwise agreed prior to your viewing with Naomi. Payment Plans can be arranged – contact Naomi for details. Naomi Hamilton Photography accepts cash, cheque, direct deposit or credit card via PayPal. Pricing including special offers and packages, is subject to change over time. If you are not happy with the selection of quality images provided Naomi will happily reshoot at another scheduled time. A travel fee may be applied for locations 20 kilometers or more from the Woollahra studio in Sydney.

 

What are the copyright laws?

Answer

Australian Copyright Law protects image copyright. It is unlawful to copy or scan any images without the permission of Naomi Hamilton Photography. In order to control the quality of any work produced, the photographer is the only one who can crop, modify or order any image produced at a photo session. Clients or visitors to this website may not reproduce any images produced by the photographer for any purpose, including personal use. Likewise, clients cannot authorise any reproductions of the images for commercial use, for photographic competition or display. Digital images, if purchased or provided are strictly for personal, non commercial use ONLY.

 

Is privacy of my contact information safe?

Answer

Protection and privacy of our customers email and phone numbers is taken very seriously. Your personal contact information is never shared with other companies or people. This also includes visitors to this web site; subscribers to newsletters or blogs, referred friends and purchasers of Naomi Hamilton Photography’s products. Naomi may use your information to provide services to you, to fulfil administrative functions associated with these services – for example billing – to enter into contracts with you and for marketing and client relationship purposes.

 

Is there a choice of preferable locations that you can suggest for my photo session?

Answer

Naomi knows so many of Sydney’s beautiful beaches and parks. During her phone consultation Naomi can suggest a number of alternative spots that your family will have have fun at and feel comfortable to be themselves.
